Appointment fees
Call 03 9088 8228 for the current fee for your appointment type and practitioner. Ask about initial and follow-up appointments, expected duration and any cancellation policy when booking. Fees and rebates can vary; do not assume that a rebate covers the full cost.
Private health insurance
Osteopathy rebates depend on your extras policy, waiting periods, limits and provider eligibility. Confirm your cover directly with your fund and ask reception about claiming arrangements. Clinical Pilates or other exercise appointments may have different eligibility from an osteopathy consultation.
Medicare and GP referrals
Some people with a GP Chronic Condition Management Plan may be eligible for Medicare-supported allied health services, including osteopathy. Your GP determines suitability and provides the relevant referral. The available services are shared across eligible allied health disciplines and limits apply.
Before booking, check that the referral is valid for the intended service, how many eligible appointments remain and whether an out-of-pocket fee applies. Older care-plan arrangements may have transitional rules; ask your GP or Services Australia if you are unsure.
TAC and WorkSafe
Funding depends on the accepted claim, injury, provider eligibility and any approval requirements. Ask reception to confirm whether your chosen practitioner can see you under the claim and what documents to bring. Our workplace and TAC guide explains the preparation process.
A short checklist before booking
- What is the full consultation fee?
- Is this practitioner and appointment type eligible under my cover or claim?
- Do I need a referral or prior approval?
- How much will I pay on the day, and how is any rebate claimed?
- What happens if I need to change or cancel the appointment?
